How to Assemble Your RTA Cabinets

• Phillips screwdriver or a drill with a Phillips bit
• Rubber mallet
• Level
• Clean, flat work surface such as a table or the floor covered with a moving blanket
• The hardware bag included in each cabinet box, plus the included cam locks, dowels, and screws

Open each cabinet box carefully and lay out all panels, the hardware bag, doors, and drawer fronts. Compare what you have against the parts list included in the box. If anything is missing or damaged, contact us at service@rtacabinetscanada.ca before you begin assembly so we can send a replacement quickly.

Work on one cabinet at a time and keep hardware bags separated by cabinet so you do not mix up parts between boxes.

Most cabinet boxes use cam locks paired with dowels for a tool light, tight fitting joint. Insert the dowels into the pre drilled holes on the bottom and top panels, then align the side panels and press together by hand. Insert the cam bolts into the side panels and turn each cam lock a quarter turn with a screwdriver until it clicks and draws the joint tight.

Work through all four corners before fully tightening any one of them, then go back and snug each cam lock evenly. This keeps the box square instead of pulling it out of alignment.

Slide the back panel into the grooves or rabbets along the top, bottom, and side panels as shown in your instructions, then secure it with the small screws provided. The back panel squares up the entire box, so check with a level or by measuring both diagonals of the cabinet, they should match, before moving on.

Insert shelf pins at your desired height and set the adjustable shelves in place. To hang doors, attach the hinge cups to the pre drilled holes on the inside of the door, then screw the hinge plates to the cabinet side panel. Snap the door onto the hinge plate and use the adjustment screws on the hinge to fine tune the gap so doors sit even and flush.

Our soft close hinges and drawer glides are self damping, so doors and drawers will ease shut on their own once installed correctly. No extra adjustment is needed for the soft close action itself.

Mount the drawer glide rails to the inside of the cabinet at the marked height, making sure both sides are level with each other. Attach the matching glide hardware to the drawer box, then slide the drawer onto the rails until it clicks into place. Test the drawer to confirm it slides smoothly and closes evenly before loading it.

• Do not fully tighten cam locks until all four corners are engaged
• Keep a rubber mallet handy for gently seating dowels, never use a metal hammer directly on the panels
• Assemble in a clean, dust free area to avoid scratching the painted white finish
• If a joint feels tight, check that the dowel is fully seated rather than forcing the cam lock
